Rap, Inc. Begins 39th Year of Service

NU-ERA

This year, the Mayor’s Office of Community Relations and Services and the Department of Parks and Recreation joined as festival co-sponsors.  The festival was held at the Harry Thomas, Sr. Recreation Center, 1745 Lincoln Road, N. E.

Twenty of the city’s premier healthcare providers offered free health screening and HIV testing. An afternoon of entertainment included the Gospel of Faith Choir; and a sensational young recording group from Washington, D. C. named Nu-Era.  They sang Motown classics combined with today’s R&B.  The young men all are between the ages of 15-18.

"For the greatest thing that anyone can do in the world… the greatest undertaking…the noblest effort…is to be engaged in some activity which has as its aim, the improvement of life. The improvement of life, then, ought to be our number one goal in our search for happiness… in our search for self-realization.
